What is Keratin treatment and what is the process?
What is keratin treatment? This the first question that comes in your mind,Keratin is a smoothing treatment that seals your hair cuticle with a coating of protein that eliminates frizzy hair making it smooth and shiny. It nourishes your hair making your hair soft and shiny.
Difference between keratin treatment and straightening?
There is huge difference between keratin treatment and straightening. Straightening changes your texture for good until the hair is fully grown out. This treatment will eventually fade away ,but texture will still remain somewhat soft, and still have your natural texture later.
Which hair is suitable for keratin treatment?
If you have frizzy and rough hair then I would recommend keratin. It will eliminate frizz and soften your hair. If you have thick hair and strong hair then well and good.
If your hair is already thin ,fine texture and straight hair and overall processed hair then I would not recommend this treatment. Because the high heat of flat iron can cause damage and can break your hair and same applies to processed hair, such as bleach and tone. If you have natural curls and really love natural curls then I would not recommend keratin, as it will straighten your hair.
Keratin can also be great for coloured hair , as it will seal your colour and make your hair shine.
How long the treatment takes and price?
Process can take up to 2 to 3 hours depending on your hair type and length.
It cost around 5000rs (Indian currency) depending on brand and length and texture of your hair.
How long it will last for?
It will last for 2 – 4 Months depending upon how you shampoo your hair and make sure you only use sulfate free shampoo.
How often can you do this treatment without any damage?
I usually recommend 1 or 2 times a year.
